United Synagogue Youth. Judaism has got to be an important part of being in USY if it is right in the name of the most amazing youth organization ever. That aspect of USY can only be as important and cherished if you all get involved. Imagine yourself, leading services, reading Torah or even giving a D’var Torah. You could be the one getting up in front of CHUSY region reading Torah for the first time since your Bar or Bat Mitzvah or leading services for the first time, period. My goal for this year is to make your imaginations a reality. I plan on setting up a type of tutoring program that gives everyone an equal opportunity to learn anything their heart desires that pertains to prayer and their spirituality. I will also work with the Rel/Ed RGB members and will work with the chapter Rel/Ed’s too.
I would really like people to feel comfortable coming up to me and asking me to teach them a certain prayer, service, trope, anything. I can already tell this year is going to be amazing, and you, CHUSY Region, can only make it better.
Also, don’t forget to get more involved this year. You can do so, not only by coming to more programs, but by joining some amazing USY clubs, such as A.J. Heschel Honor Society, Israel Club, 613 Mitzvah Club, and HeChalitzim.
I am so excited for the year to come, and you all should be too!!! Don’t ever hesitate to drop me an email =)
